The Edison Public Library offers several services to avid readers who want to begin a new book but can’t get to the library.

With eLibraryNJ, powered by Libby, patrons can check out up to five books at a time for up to 21 days. Titles range from new releases to classic literature to self-help and art books. Whether you’re into poignant memoirs, pulp sci-fi, or dime-store bodice rippers, you’re bound to find a title to tickle your fancy on eLibraryNJ.

In addition to eBooks, eLibraryNJ also has thousands of audiobooks to choose from for those who like to multitask their reading. You can also borrow magazines and other periodicals with no holds or waiting period.

Just like eLibraryNJ, Hoopla allows patrons to borrow eBooks and audiobooks whenever they want. However, Hoopla has no holds—if a title is on Hoopla, it can be borrowed. (Hoopla does have a daily lending limit, so if you receive an error after selecting an item, try again after midnight.)

But Hoopla offers more than just books. Movies, music, and television shows are all available to borrow. It’s a one-stop shop for your entertainment needs.

Are magazines more your thing? Then PressReader is for you. With over 7,000 of the most popular magazines and newspapers across 100 countries, PressReader allows patrons to stay on top of their favorite subjects without the need to visit the library. With titles like the New York Post, Rolling Stone, and US Weekly, you can access some of the most popular publications without having to sit around your doctor’s waiting room.
