The Edison Public Library has been a part of the Clara Barton neighborhood since 1932.
The Library Board was notified in-person in September by Mayor Sam Joshi that the Clara Barton Branch would need to relocate to make way for a new Special Needs Recreation Center.
It saddens us to leave our home, but we recognize the need for change. We have no intention of leaving the area and are currently working with the Township to secure a new location nearby so we can continue to serve the Clara Barton community for many years to come.
On December 21st, we were informed that the Library must vacate the building by January 6, 2023 to make way for the new Center.
The last day of public service for the community at the current Clara Barton Branch on Hoover Avenue will be on Thursday, December 29th. The following week will be needed to pack the current Library to get ready to start in a new location.
This is not goodbye, but rather a new beginning for the Clara Barton neighborhood. Please check the Library’s website and social media for updates.
