The Middlesex County Office of Career Opportunity is offering a new virtual workshop to help job seekers find a role to further their employment goals.
This latest workshop, titled “The Robot Is Ready to Interview You Now,” will help job seekers face the latest challenge in finding employment—being interviewed by a “bot” to use algorithms to filter out candidates based on their responses.
Similar to the Applicant Tracking Systems—which read the text of resumes and pass applicants to the next level based on certain keywords—this Asynchronous Video Interviews, or AVI, are using artificial intelligence to sift through an applicant’s pre-recorded video for certain keywords or behaviors and narrow the pool of candidates.
The workshop will be led by Alex Freund, a former business executive who has helped over 1200 people across different industries to succeed in their interview process. His advice has been published in periodicals like Business Insider and Entrepreneur, and he has led over 500 presentations to various corporations.
Alex will teach you the basics of recording your interview, including:
- how to manage the technical aspects of video communication, such as lighting, background, camera angle, and clear audio.
- finding out what’s important when interviewing with a machine.
- tips to improve your current performance.
This free workshop will be held on Tuesday, January 17 at 10:00am via Zoom, and you can register on the Middlesex County website.
