On Tuesday, January 31, Chef Jesse Jones will be live in the Main Library giving attendees a demonstration of his culinary flair by making a popular southern dish, Shrimp & Grits. This dish, which was popularized in the coastal regions of the Southern Lowcountry, is considered a southern staple for decades.
A native of Newark, New Jersey, Chef Jesse's culinary DNA was developed during childhood summers in Snow Hill, North Carolina where his grandmother's cast iron stove was the source of many memorable food experiences. Today, he continues to be influenced by her legacy, bridging past and present through interpreting classic southern dishes with French techniques. His skill has won him numerous accolades, including being named Top Chef by Inside New Jersey and the title of Ultimate Chef of Bergen County.
His food has been enjoyed by many celebrities including Whoopie Goldberg and John Legend, and he has appeared as a guest chef on many news programs in the New York metropolitan area.
The program begins at 7:00pm at the Main Library, and registration is required. Sign up below to experience this culinary journey.
