The Holocaust was one of the greatest tragedies in human history, an event that led to the extermination of more than 6 million Jews as well as millions of other lives.

The world has evolved since the horror of the Holocaust, with museums and libraries dedicated to memory of those who were killed. Even the concentration camps, like Auschwitz and Dachau, used to inter and torture victims of the Nazi party have been turned into memorials of the terrors they represented.

January 27 marks an important anniversary, that of the fall of Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945. In 2005, that day was officially recognized by the UN as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Below, we’ve compiled a collection of books from our circulation that document the horrors of the Holocaust. From first-hand tales of survivors to memoirs of those who lost their lives to historical fiction detailing the troubles of everyday living, these books mark an important time in history that should never be forgotten.
