Black History Month, celebrated each year throughout February, is the time to look back on all of the historic things committed to society on behalf of the Black community. Whether that’s the activism of people like Frederick Douglass and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. or all of the scientific achievements of George Washington Carver and Emmett Chappelle.
Beginning on February 15, the Edison Public Library is offering three programs focused on the achievements of two famous Black women. These programs are aimed at children aged 1 to 10, so the information presented will be easy to follow. There will also be crafts available, particularly a painting session to allow children to imitate the artistic ability of Alma Thomas.
Registration for the events is required so sign up at your most convenient library branch to reserve your spot.
