March is Women's History Month, the time of year when we celebrate the contributions of women to society, history, and culture. The month is dedicated to raising awareness of women's achievements and the ongoing struggle for gender equality.

Women's History Month is important because it allows for the recognition of women as catalysts of change and the contributions they’ve made to society over the years. It’s a chance to educate people on the women that history has forgotten, who may not be household names but are still important nonetheless. And Women’s History Month also acts as inspiration to modern women and young girls to  pursue their dreams and to recognize their own potential.

In honor of Women's History Month, the Edison Public Library has selected a few books about important women in history and the changes they’ve contributed. By reading these books and learning about the achievements of women, we can gain a greater appreciation for the role that women have played in shaping our world, and for the ongoing struggle for gender equality.
