Diabetes, if left untreated, can lead to serious health issues like heart disease, blindness, and nerve damage.
It is important to get screened regularly for diabetes, especially if you have a family history of the disease or if you are overweight or obese. Managing diabetes through a healthy lifestyle, medication, and regular monitoring can help prevent complications and improve quality of life.
Knowing the early warning signs of diabetes is crucial because it allows for timely diagnosis and treatment, which can help prevent or delay these complications.
That’s why Cindy Andl, a Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator from Hackensack Meridian Health, will be at the North Edison Branch on Tuesday, March 14 to explain the early warning signs and symptoms of diabetes. She will also discuss lifestyle changes to make to prevent diabetes before it arises.
This is our first offering by Hackensack Meridian Health Programs Diabetes Series. Space for this program is limited, so register quickly.
