Tuesday, March 21 is World Poetry Day, an annual celebration to promote the importance of poetry, encourage writing and reading of poems, and support the linguistic and cultural diversity of the world.

Poetry as literary expression allows people to explore the depths of their emotions and experiences. It has the power to inspire, heal, and bring people together. It helps them to connect with others and understand the world in a more profound way.

World Poetry Day provides a platform for poets, writers, and literature enthusiasts to celebrate the power of poetry. It recognizes the role of poetry in protecting linguistic heritage and encouraging creativity.

World Poetry Day is essential to remind us of the significance of poetry in our lives. It bolsters our appreciation of the beauty of language. In recognition of World Poetry Day, the Edison Public Library has compiled a collection of books filled with poetry that looks at the world in new and unique ways. We hope that you connect with these works and find a deeper understanding of your surroundings.
