Volunteering can provide many benefits for teenagers, including gaining new skills, building self-confidence, and developing a sense of responsibility and empathy. It can also provide opportunities for networking and making new friends, as well as a chance to explore potential career paths or interests.
What many teenagers like about volunteering, though, is that it can be a valuable addition to a college application or resume, demonstrating a commitment to community service and personal growth.
The Edison Public Library is always looking for teen volunteers to support us in our goals. If you’re interested in joining our team of volunteers, we have two programs coming up where you can learn about the opportunities available during the school year and summer.
We’re looking for volunteers between the ages of 14 and 18. Parents are encouraged to attend with, not in place of, their teen.
