May is here, and our calendar is full with fun and informative programs for everyone.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, so we’ve teamed up with NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) to host two programs—one at the Main Library and one in North Edison—that explore personal perspectives on mental health.
In that same vein, we’re recognizing the stress that studying can have on students, and with so many major tests coming up, we’re giving our high school students the chance to unwind and decompress with therapy dogs, games, and cookies.
Hackensack Meridian Health will be at the North Edison Branch for one of their Heart Health Series programs covering the prevention and risk factors of chest pain and heart attacks.
WeMake 4H is back in our Makerspace! They are hosting an All-Girls 3D printing program and teaching participants how to use Tinkercad. There’s also a new program for the budding geneticists out there that will show them how to extract and examine DNA from a strawberry! You can sign up for either session at the North Edison Branch or the Main Library.
And for the very young ones, Family Storytime will be held in each of our branches. No need to register—just swing by and join the fun.
Just a reminder: the Edison Public Library system will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Sunday, May 28, and Monday, May 29. All branches will reopen for regular operating hours on Tuesday, May 30.
You can see a full list of all of May's events here, and don’t forget to register on the Events page of our website.
