Mother's Day is a special time to celebrate the women who have given us life and shaped us into the people we are today. It's a day to show mothers how much we appreciate their love, support, and sacrifices.
To recognize motherhood and the different types of relationships we have with our mothers, we’ve put together a list of books that delve into the joys, challenges, and nuances of being a mother. These books offer insights into the universal experience of motherhood, as well as the unique struggles that come with it. From the hilarious and heartwarming Are You My Mother? by Alison Bechdel, to the thought-provoking The Need by Helen Phillips, there's something for every type of mother on our list.
And if you are a mother, we hope you find the time on Sunday to focus on you and—if possible—forget all of your responsibilities for the day, because Mother’s Day is all about you.
Happy Mother’s Day from the Edison Public Library.
