Armed Forces Day, celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May and falling on May 20 this year, is a significant occasion to honor and show gratitude to the bravery of those who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. This day provides an opportunity for citizens to recognize the sacrifices made by military personnel in protecting their country's freedom and sovereignty.
First established in 1949, Armed Forces Day raises public awareness about the vital role of the armed forces. The military is responsible for safeguarding the security of our nation and protecting citizens from threats such as terrorism and foreign aggression.
