With computers and technology advancing at an exponential rate, learning about STEM—short for Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering—is an encouraged path for most young ones. However, the stigma of these fields tends to turn them into an all-boys club, which specifically alienates girls.
To help boost participation from girls and stoke an interest in STEM projects, we’re partnering with WeMake 4H to host a STEM 4-Her session on 3D Design on Tuesday, May 30 in the North Edison Branch.
This class will give participants the skills to make of code their own 3D printed designs using Tinkercad—a browser-based 3D modeling program that anyone can learn in no time. The goal of this class is to remove the intimidation of working with 3D designs.
This session is for girls in Grade 5 and up who are interested in learning how to design their own 3D projects. Participants must bring their own charged laptop.
Space is very limited, so sign up quickly to reserve a spot.
