It’s June, and summer is right around with corner.
June is Pride Month and we’re celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. We’ll be hosting a presentation on the history of the Stonewall Inn by the Stonewall National Museum Archives & Library. We’ve also got a session on Transgender Mental Health Awareness and Education led by award-winning author Adaryll Moore. And finally, there’s the first of two programs in the LGBTQ+: Equal Health for Everyone series which will focus on health disparities in the LGBTQ+ community.
There’s a special Father’s Day Take and Make happening at each of our branches to celebrate the Dads out there.
We’ll also be hosting WeMake 4H for some more coding programs, including a 2-part workshop on Python and a 2-part workshop learning to code in C++. There is also a special STEM 4-Her event to introduce girls to Finch Robotics and computer science.
Fans of classic literature and Colin Firth will enjoy our Food, Fashion and Tea from Jane Austen to Queen Victoria program presented by Judith Krall-Russo.
We’ve also got a special program on the Secret History of Slavery in New Jersey presented by Timothy Hack, Chair of History and Social Sciences at Middlesex County College.
All of this is in addition to our regular book clubs, Makerspaces, and Clara Barton Knitting Circle.
You can see a full list of all of June’s events here, and don’t forget to register on the Events page of our website.
