June 6, 1944 will forever be known as D-Day, the date of a the infamous battle during World War II in which the Allied forces launched a massive invasion of the beaches of Normandy, France. The mission was a turning point in the war and marked the beginning of the end for Germany's control in Western Europe. The day now commemorates the bravery displayed by the soldiers and to remember the sacrifice of those who gave their lives in the name of freedom.

On this anniversary of D-Day, the Edison Public Library has compiled a collection of books and movies that depict just how important the battle was despite the horrors that occurred on the beaches of France.
