July is here! The sun is shining and the weather is considerably hotter, which is all the more reason to stop into your local Edison Public Library branch for some of our programs.
Our Summer Reading Challenge is in full effect. This year’s theme is “All Together Now” and you can register for the chance to win some great prizes over at BeanStack.
There’s also a TON of great programs for teens and the younger kids to support summer learning. The Science Labs: Pushing Limits at the Main Library and North Edison Branch will teach teens science concepts through hands on experience.
The Bugs on the Go programs—held at the Clara Barton Branch, the Main Library, and two sessions at the North Edison Branch—is a celebration of the diversity of life aimed at the 5-11 age group.
Similar to that, the Eyes of the Wild program—again held at all three branches—looks at a broader view of the animal kingdom and how different species interact with each other.
We also have adult programing too! On June 5, Bergen County author RoseMarie Rubinetti Cappiello will be at the Main Library to discuss what mediumship is, how it works, and who experiences mediumship in a program titled Divine Mediumship and Angel Messages.
You can join us at the Clara Barton Branch for Clara Barton History Day led by the Metuchen-Edison Historical Society.
There will be two programs aimed at music fans this month. The first is from Beatles scholar and sixties rock historian Vinnie Bruno titled The Beatles: From Liverpool to Abbey Road at the Main Library, and the second, Rock Music: The Golden Age, finds Walter Choroszewski discussing the many branches of the tree of Rock music.
We’re also hosting movie events at the Clara Barton Branch all month long. With two different themes—one for kids and one for adults—you can join us and your neighbors for a nice relaxing time in the Library watching movies. Click here for the full schedule.
All of this is in addition to our regular book clubs, Makerspaces, and Clara Barton Knitting Circle.
You can see a full list of all of July’s events here, and don’t forget to register on the Events page of our website.
