American symbolism is some of the most recognizable in the world. From the Stars and Stripes to the bald eagle, these symbols are so ingrained in our identity as Americans that even non-Americans notice the short hand. But how did these symbols become synonymous with our country?

On Thursday, July 20, Walter Choroszewski will be at the Clara Barton Branch with a presentation on the history of the process of and the Founders responsible for creating the Symbols of America.
