Edison Public Library: Learning to Program with Finch Robotics

A Finch is a robot that is designed to grow with its engineer. For younger users, its programming can be done through icon-based coding while more advanced users can program the Finch using complex languages like Python and Javascript.

To get our patrons started on programming a Finch robot, WeMake 4H will be hosting a couple of programs for Grades 5 and up. During these programs, attendees will learn icon- and block-based coding outputs (motors, light, sound) and inputs (sensors).

No robotics, coding, or computer science experience is required. However, attendees will need to bring their own charged laptops.
