Improv is a great way for aspiring actors to hone their craft and imagination by reacting to unscripted, made-up-on-the-spot stories without breaking character. Improv is often used as a tool in comedy—with many of the world’s greatest comedians getting their start in improv, and the theatre is best seen in the hit show Whose Line Is It Anyway?—but not all improv needs to be comedic in nature.
One of our latest programs for teens focuses on the art of improv and will focus on the premise of a sci-fi monster invasion.
Talewise—who previously hosted our Science Heroes: Saving Earth Together programs—will led teens aged 12-18 into the exciting world of improv theater. Attendees will get to unleash their creativity as they take part in fun and interactive theatre games that will prepare them for devising their own scenes. Best of all, no performing or improv experience is required!
These sessions will be held on Tuesday, August 8 at both the North Edison and Clara Barton Branches, so feel free to register at the location most convenient to you.
