It’s September, and that means back to school time! September is also Library Card Sign Up Month, so if someone you know is lacking a library card, encourage them to stop into their local Edison Public Library branch to get one.
We have some fun events planned for September. For those with young ones in the house, our Baby Songs and Stories and Toddler Time programs are perfect for engaging the little ones. Those will be held weekly at each of our three branches, so swing by for some fun child engagement.
Our Friday Films are back! Every Friday in September, you can visit the Clara Barton Branch to watch a movie with your neighbors.
Jazz Guitarist Abe Ovadia will be making a tour of our Library. He’ll be performing at the Main Library on Saturday, September 9 before hosting his program Reimagining the American Songbook at the Clara Barton Branch on September 14 and the North Edison Branch on September 21.
Learn all about eclipses ahead of the full eclipse on October 14! An educator from the Liberty Science Center will appear via Zoom at all three branches on Thursday, September 28 to teach teens about the astronomical phenomena known as Phases and Eclipses.
Hispanic Heritage Month begins September 15, and we’ve scheduled a ton of programs in celebration. On Monday September 18, experience Latin Fusion Cooking presented by Lola Latin Bistro at the Main Library. Learn about American Baseball in Cuba With Rick Feingold at the Clara Barton Branch on September 21. And also at the Clara Barton Branch we’ll be holding Latin American Cooking presented by Latin Port Restaurant on September 27.
All of this and more is in addition to our regular book clubs and the Clara Barton Knitting Circle.
You can see a full list of all of September’s events here, and don’t forget to register on the Events page of our website.
