Baseball is called America’s pastime, but like many other American ___ and hobbies, it has been exported to other countries. Hispanic countries in particular have taken a great shine to baseball as the sport is played heavily in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. Baseball is also very popular in Cuba, where the sport has a long history.
On Thursday, September 21, join baseball expert Rick Feingold at the Clara Barton Branch for a special presentation on the history of American Baseball in Cuba.
As part of our Hispanic Heritage Month series of programs, American Baseball in Cuba will focus on the crossover of the great American sport in the country of Cuba. Rick will discuss the numerous baseball greats that played in Cuba and how the sport affect Cuban citizens.
Seating for this program is limited, so register early to guarantee your spot.
