Salsa music has a long and colorful history. Now, for the first time at the Edison Public Library, fans of the genre can learn all about the evolution of salsa music.
On Sunday, September 24, Mr. José Obando will appear at the Main Library for an interactive discussion on the 350+ year history of salsa music, including its formation in Spanish-Caribbean cultural and musical identity and the influential European and African elements that made it what it is today. He will be also accompanied by his musical ensemble to make the music come to life!
This program is being offered as part of our ongoing celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
