Many of the most prolific movie directors started out small, making short films with unpaid talent just to showcase their skills. In fact, Steven Spielberg began making movies at the age of 13 with his friends. The way directors show off their short films is through film festivals, but so many of these festivals are so localized—like the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, or Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy—that it’s difficult for everyday people to attend.
However, the Edison Public Library has become a screening location for the upcoming MANHATTAN SHORT, a festival featuring 10 short films from around the world. Not only can you watch these movies, you’ll be able to vote for the Best Film and Best Actor categories.
We’ll be hosting the MANHATTAN SHORTat each of our branches, so register now for the time and location that’s best for you.
