Welcome to fall! October is bringing the chilly, rainy weather with it, so why not spend some time at the Edison Public Library? October is brimming with great programming that will make you forget about the dreary weather.
The second half of Hispanic Hertiage Month is here, and we have two Sunday music programs lined up at the Main Library: The Music of Brazil & Latin Jazz Concert, both led by the Esteem Latin Jazz Ensemble. For those who prefer to move to the beat, Latin Dance Lesson will be held at the North Edison Branch.
Our children’s programs are on point, with both Baby Songs and Stories and Toddler Storytimes happening at all three branches. We’ve also got some fun, Halloween events for kids with Creepy Crafternoon, Monster Mash dance parties, and Spooky Family Tales storytime.
We’re looking forward to Navratri with programs curated by award-winning children's author Priya Kumari happening at all three branches.
October is all about spooky creatures, and we’ll have that in spades with Mike Familant Live, a program hosted by producer and cryptid hunter Mike Familant at the Main Library where he discusses his adventures searching for the legendary Bigfoot.
Like movies? Then come watch and vote on all of the finalists in this year's MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival. The festival will be broadcast at each of the Library branches, so find the time and place that works best for you.
The Friends of the Edison Public Library will be holding their first Book & Bake Sale at the Main Library. Visitors will be able to purchase gently used books and sweet treats to supports the Friends group, which in turn supports the Edison Public Library! (For info on joining the Friends of the Edison Public Library, click here.)
All of this is in addition to our regular book clubs, Makerspaces, and Clara Barton Knitting Circle.
You can see a full list of all of October’s events here, and don’t forget to register on the Events page of our website.
