It’s hard to believe we’re nearing the middle of the fall already. Before you know it, the holidays will be upon us, then it’ll be time to make our new year’s resolutions. But before all of that happens, we have a ton of exciting events going on at the Edison Public Library.

Our Baby Songs and Stories and Toddler Storytime programs are continuing throughout the month to help keep your little one engaged and entertained. We’re also adding a trio of Atrsy Toddler programs aimed at fostering children’s creativity. The kids will also learn fine motor skills through the instruction of different artistic tools like glue, crayons, and paint.

Diwali is November 12, and we have a great line-up of programs to celebrate. Early in the month, adults can participate in our Rangoli Art Workshops led by local artist Sujata Amritkar. We also have programming aimed at children with Diwali Magic—which will feature a puppet show and puppet-making craft—and Diwali Delights where attendees can take photos at a Diwali photobooth and learn to make coconut laddoos. Both of these programs are courtesy of award-winning children's author, Priya Kumari.

Our Game Day for Teens program proved so popular that it will continue into November, but with a twist. We’re lowering the age requirement to under 12, so now it’s the Game Day for Tweens and Teens

We have a special Solar Viewing event courtesy of Pearl Observatory where attendees can see our sun in a safe solar telescope. They’ll also learn all about the sun’s rotation, space weather, and what causes sunspots and solar flares.

We’re excited to welcome back the Edison chapter of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization for a repeat of Guided Meditation: Who Owns Your Own Happiness? This will be an in-person event at the Clara Barton Branch.

All of this and more is in addition to our regular book clubs, Makerspace programs, film showings, and the Clara Barton Knitting Circle.

You can see a full list of all of November’s events here, and don’t forget to register on the Events page of our website.
