Henna is a painless and temporary form of body art with rich traditions in various cultures and religions all over the world dating back to the Bronze Age. Creating henna involves the use of natural mehndi—a safe, nonpermanent ink—to draw intricate and unique shapes and designs along the skin, often done in conjunction with a special occasion like a wedding or holiday.
With Diwali on Sunday, November 12, we’ve invited professional henna artist Nisha Sharma to provide our patrons with henna of their own! Nisha will be at each branch of the Edison Public Library to give each participant a unique henna design on the back of their hand.
This event is for ages 12 and up. Due to the time constraints of each design, registration for this event is extremely limited, so be sure to register to guarantee your spot.
