We’re in the midst of Hanukkah—with the last day falling on Friday, December 15—and we hope all of our observing patrons have enjoyed their time with family and friends. But while there’s still a few days left, we felt it was important to recognize the holiday and provide our Jewish patrons with a list of books that celebrate their faith.

What we’ve gathered is a mixture of different genres—from YA to historical fiction—but they are all written by prominent Jewish authors or feature Jewish leads. Some of them draw on symbols from Jewish lore while others deal with heavier topics, like systemic antisemitism. The majority of these books don’t connect with Hanukkah directly, but the are dedicated to Judaism and Jewish representation.

In the end, we hope you enjoy these books. We at the Edison Public Library wish your family peace and light this holiday season.
