Fans of maritime lore history will be pleased at the return of Dan Lieb, diver and historian, for another intriguing program, this time focusing on the identification of the Bell Holder.
Originally known as the Ruth Shaw, the Bell Holder is a barge that sank in November of 1939. Carrying a cargo of stone, it went down in 85 feet of water off the coast of Sandy Hook.
On Tuesday, February 13, Dan Lieb will appear at the Main Library to discuss the six-year-long adventure into identifying the Bell Holder wreck. His discussing will cover the glimpse the Bell Holder provided into the maritime industry of the early twentieth century and as well as the dangers of plying the waters off New Jersey.
Thi program has been rescheduled from its original date of February 13.
