One of the benefits to Edison Public Library cardholders is a wide variety of digital resources where they can borrow eBooks and audiobooks, stream movies and music, and develop their personal and professional skills. With all that we already offer, we’re proud to announce two new digital databases for our patrons!
Our first addition is ShemarooMe, a streaming service offering a variety of captivating South Asian content. ShemarooMe offers patrons 14-day access to three different tiers of programs including acclaimed Gujarati movies, popular Punjabi content, and a large collection of new and classic Telugu movies. There’s even a Kids plan featuring animation series aimed at pre-schoolers, children, and families; kids rhymes in different languages like Hindi, Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada; and favorites such as Bal Ganesh, Ghatothkach, and Tales of Akbar.
Our second new digital resource is the Library Speakers Consortium which offers access to free virtual interviews with acclaimed writers and authors. These sessions can be viewed live on Zoom with registration, but patrons can also watch the back catalog of interviews with some massive names in the publishing industry like The Mortal Instruments author Cassandra Clare, writer and illustrator Kate Beaton, and even General Hospital and Full House star John Stamos.
Both of these resources can be accessed through the Digital Library menu on our website and clicking Databases. Only Edison Public Library cardholders can access these services, so if you don’t have a valid library card, stop into your local branch to get one.
