New Jersey Makers Day—the annual celebration of maker culture and innovation—begins on Friday, March 15!
 
The event, which began in 2015, brings together makers, artists, and inventors of all ages to showcase their creations, share knowledge, and inspire creativity. New Jersey Makers Day has grown rapidly and now includes hundreds of participating organizations, including museums, schools, community centers, and libraries such as the Edison Public Library. 
 
To celebrate NJ Makers Day, we’ve got a full lineup of great activities planned out for our three Library branches. We’ve got events focused on drawing and sketching, slime-making, LEGO building, and so many more. A few of these events require registration, but others are open entry so stop in and join the fun!

NJ Maker Day: Crochet 101 for Adults

Experiment with us as we make two different types of slime, then decorate a container to keep your slime fresh! 
 
No registration required, but supplies are limited. First 15 participants will be admitted into the program.

Join us for NJ Maker Day for a STEM Storytime - a reading of Dr. Seuss's Bartholomew and the Oobleck - and then a making of our own Oobleck to play with! 
 
Open to children ages 3 - 6 and their families.

NJ Maker Day: WeMake 4H Double Feature

Join us for an electrifying E-Textile workshop where participants will craft their own glowing bracelets by weaving electronics into the fabric.
 
Additionally, dive into genetics by participating in hands-on DNA extraction from fruit, exploring its appearance and texture. This engaging activity mirrors the initial steps scientists undertake to unlock the secrets held within DNA.
 
Open to Elementary and Middle school students.

HelpNow offers live, on-demand online tutoring for students in grades kindergarten through college. Members can get instant academic assistance from expert tutors throughout the week.
