Authors have been taking inspiration from myths and legends for about as long as the myths and legends have been around. Though some writers have been able to adapt the myths to fit their own stories, few have been able to do so as masterfully as Madeline Miller.

On Thursday, March 21, Madeline Miller will be joining a live chat to discuss her method of adaptation and how she wove them into her New York Times-bestselling novels, The Song of Achilles and Circe.

With an MA in Classics from Brown University, Miller is well-versed in the themes and motifs of Greek mythology, which she was able to reimagine to weave two well-received novels. Now, patrons of the Edison Public Library are invited to learn more about her process of updating well-known myths for a modern audience.

The discussion will be held over Zoom—registered participants will receive the Zoom link, so sign up at the link below. Participants can also submit questions for Miller which will be asked should time allow.
