Local teens ages 12 to 18 are invited to attend a special themed craft program on Wednesday, March 27 to celebrate the Hindu festival, Holi.
Holi, celebrated as the Festival of Colours, Love, and Spring, takes place on the full-moon day of the Hindu month Phalguna. This ancient tradition marks the end of winter, honors the triumph of good over evil, and the blossoming of love. To celebrate, people in India and around the world light bonfires, throw colorful powder called gulal, eat sweets, and dance to traditional folk music.
Join Priya Kumari from Eternal Tree Books at 6:30pm at the North Edison Branch to learn how to make natural Holi color powders and to create unique Holi-themed bookmarks adorned with dried flowers and festive stickers. This workshop offers a fun, creative way to engage with Holi traditions, learn about eco-conscious celebrations, and take home a beautiful handcrafted keepsake.
