The Main Library will be closed on Thursday, May 9, and
Friday, May 10, in preparation of our upcoming remodel. Hours at the North Edison and Clara Barton Branches will NOT be affected.
Saturday is May 4th, better known as Star Wars Day for those who celebrate. 
 
Though it seems arbitrary that some random day is dedicated to one of the most popular science fiction franchises on the planet, it becomes clearer when you say the date as one particular phrase:
 
May the 4th Be With You
 
These six words were spoken by Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original 1977 Star Wars film with the goal of inspiring the young Luke Skywalker to believe in himself and his control of the Force. 
 
To celebrate Star Wars Day 2024, make a stop by your local Edison Public Library branch and borrow one of these books to delve deeper into the Star Wars universe.
