The 2024 Summer Reading Program will run from June 23 through August 31 with incentives, special events, and prizes for children, teens, and adults at all Edison Public Library locations. This year’s theme is Adventure Begins at Your Library.
For children, the program will kick off on Saturday, June 22 with a performance by singer and entertainer Tim Hoh followed by crafts, glitter tattoos, balloon animals, and cotton candy. Join us at the Main Library at 10:00am; Clara Barton Branch at 11:30am; and the North Edison Branch at 1:00pm.
For adults, a Music of the Exotic World concert featuring selections from Turkey, Algeria, Kenya, UAE, India, Iran, Korea, and more performed by acclaimed international concert violinist Dr. David Podle will be held at the Main Library at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 23.
Over the course of the 10-week Summer Reading Program, patrons of all ages will be able to log their reading, beginning June 23, through
Beanstack, as well as take part in
Summer Reading Challenges to earn prizes based on the number of books read/logged (up to 50 max). The program also offers patrons of all ages who are enrolled in the appropriate age-specific Summer Reading Challenge the chance to win small weekly prizes.
The Edison Public Library’s 2024 Summer Reading Program festivities will continue through July and August with various drop-in events for all ages taking place at our three branches.
