Teens ages 12 to 18 are invited to learn about wolves and wolfdogs and meet two of the animals from Howling Woods Farm on Tuesday, July 9, at all Edison Public Library locations.
A wolfdog, also known as a ‘wolf hybrid,’ is a dog with wolf in its bloodline. While it is widely understood that all dog breeds have descended from the wolf, a wolfdog is a domestic dog with pure wolf in its recent genetic ancestry. Wolfdogs are mutts, for lack of a better term - wolf mixed with one or several other breeds of dog, such as Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, or German Shepherd, among others.
Experts from Howling Woods Farm, a 501c(3) Jackson Township-based educational facility that provides learning experiences about wolves and wolfdogs to the public, will be at the Main Library at 1:00pm; the Clara Barton Branch at 4:00pm; and the North Edison Branch at 7:00pm. Registration is not required but encouraged as space is limited. To sign up for the program taking place at your local branch, click the links below.
