Learn about Pride history and what it means to the LGBTQ+ community during a Thursday, September 19 program taking place at the Main Library.

During the 1:00pm event, Gordon Sauer from SAGE, a national organization dedicated to providing advocacy and services for LGBTQ+ elders, will discuss what it is like to be an LGBTQ+ in American Society today and explain terms and acronyms. Resources and information on legal protections available will also be provided.

Founded in 1978 and headquartered in New York City, SAGE offers supportive services and consumer resources to LGBTQ+ older people and their caregivers.

Included in his presentation will be an explanation of terms and acronyms such as LGBTQ+, as well as resources and legal protections.
