Join Fred Miller for An American Thanksgiving: Songs of Gratitude and Optimism at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 16 at the North Edison Branch.
Miller's lectures-in-song feature historical, anecdotal, and musical profiles delivered personally by the singer/pianist/narrator. Drawing upon the boundless bounty of classic American Popular Song, Miller's ‘An American Thanksgiving' is a Turkey Day feast that will leave all in earshot heart-full and soul-satisfied without gaining an ounce.
A classically trained pianist, Miller’s Lectures-in-Song comprises a series of solo programs focused on the great personality and important aspects of American popular songs. It began with six in 1999 and now includes more than 70 and growing tributes. In presenting history, biography, and psychology while sitting at a piano singing the superlative songs of his heroes, Miller has found a single performing medium that utilizes most of his intellectual and musical passions.
