Dear Edison Community Residents,

As we reflect on another year of growth and community engagement, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support of the Edison Public Library. The many unsolicited contributions that we received this past year have helped us to enhance vital services to individuals of all ages and backgrounds, and we could not be more grateful for the difference you've helped make.

This past year, the Library celebrated its 95th anniversary and the Edison Public Library Foundation, along with the newly established Friends of the Edison Public Library, began actively fundraising on behalf of the Library. These two organizations support our Teen Advisory Board activities, Summer Reading, and the upcoming 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten reading programs.

Our library continues to be a gathering place for thousands of residents, offering free access to books, educational programs, and digital resources and serving as a safe space for learning and connection. We’ve hosted programs to engage young readers, support local students, and foster lifelong learning. We’ve expanded our reach and built a stronger, more connected community through our Bookmobile Services across Edison.

The Library Board has undertaken the task of renovating the Main Library on Plainfield Avenue and the North Edison Branch renovation and expansion coming in 2025.  While Library Capital Funding has provided the basics for these projects, there is more that needs to be done to purchase new books, technology, furniture, and equipment for our new Innovation Lab.

To continue offering high-quality programs and services—whether it’s assisting job seekers, providing homework help, supporting early literacy, or offering access to technology for all—we need your support now more than ever.

We are excited to announce that we have set ambitious goals for this year’s 2024-2025 fundraising campaign. Our goals are as follows:
  • Capital Campaign (Library Renovation): $1 million
  • Buy-a-Book Campaign:  $100,000
  • Technology/Innovation:  $200,000
  • Enhance and Expand Quality Programming:  $200,000
Every donation, no matter the size, directly impacts the services we can offer, ensuring that the Library remains a cornerstone of our community.

Here's how you can help:
  • Donate: A gift of any amount will make a significant difference
  • Become a Monthly Supporter: A recurring donation provides sustainable funding for long-term projects
  • Corporate Matching Gifts: Many employers match charitable contributions. Ask your employer how you can double your impact
We invite you to donate to any of the Campaigns by visiting our secure online donation page at https://edisonpubliclibrary.org/foundation/, or by sending your check to Edison Public Library Foundation, 340 Plainfield Avenue, Edison, NJ 08817

Please consider donating before December 31st to be included in this year’s annual report and for your gift to be recognized at our upcoming donor recognition event to be held in Spring 2025. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our programs, don’t hesitate to contact us.

On behalf of our entire team, we thank you for your unwavering support and belief in the power of libraries. Together, we are helping to build a brighter future for everyone in Edison Township.

Warm regards,
W. Keith McCoy
