The Literacy Department is also hosting a 12-week Essential Computer Skills Course for teens and adults at the Main Library. Beginning Tuesday, March 4, the course will run twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 6:00 to 8:00pm and is geared toward people seeking to gain basic computer skills and learn internet basics while also providing an intro to Microsoft Office. Participants will use the Northstar program to gain digital certificates for personal, academic, and/or professional purposes. Registration is required and all resources will be provided.

Additionally, a workshop designed to provide teens and adults with the basics of using Microsoft’s free, online-only versions of Excel and Word will be held on Wednesday, March 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Main Library. During the Word & Excel Workshop, topics of discussion will include how to create an account, the essentials of how to get started, and the basics of navigating the Excel and Word websites.
