April is National Poetry Month, and the Edison Public Library is celebrating with a special program honoring poet, activist, and Rutgers professor Nikki Giovanni, who passed away in December 2024.
Join performance artist Lorraine Stone at the Main Library on Monday, April 14 at 6:00pm for a discussion about Giovanni’s life, a reading of her poetry, and the viewing of a portion of her famed debate with James Baldwin from the TV show SOUL!
Attendees can also share some of their own Nikki Giovanni-inspired poetry during the program; please email erevilla@edisonpubliclibrary.org in advance to secure a spot.
