Everyone has anxiety, and our incessant quest to rid ourselves of this ubiquitous human emotion worsens it. What if, instead of fighting our anxiety, we could turn it into a strength?
Edison Public Library cardholders can join David H. Rosmarin, PhD, author of Thriving with Anxiety, on Wednesday, May 7, for a webinar designed to provide insight into how to use your anxiety to become more self-accepting, connected to others, and resilient.
During the 2:00pm program, topics of discussion will include how to use anxiety to increase our self-compassion; how to harness the power of anxiety to enhance emotional intimacy; and ways to view anxiety as a normal human emotion rather than a ‘disease.’ Additionally, Dr. Rosmarin will share how, by applying his constructive, compassionate, and evidence-based approach, anxiety can be used as a strength.
Dr. Rosmarin is an associate professor at Harvard Medical School, a program director at McLean Hospital, and founder of the Center for Anxiety who, over the course of his career, has been featured on Good Morning America as well as in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, and TED.
Questions for Dr. Rosmarin may be submitted prior to the event through the registration page. Those unable to attend the How to Use Anxiety to Thrive virtual program live can check out what he had to say at a later date by visiting the Library Speaker’s Consortium link located in the ‘ Databases’ section on the Edison Public Library’s website.
