The Edison Public Library will present several feature films for children, families, and adults as we close out the month of May.
On Saturday, May 24, children and families are invited to stop by for a screening of the 2010 Disney animated film Tangled (rated PG), scheduled for 11:30am at the Main Library.
The film centers around charming bandit Flynn Rider, who hides in a mysterious tower in the woods and stumbles upon spirited teen Rapunzel, whose unlikely superpower is her 70 feet of magical golden hair. Kids of all ages and their families are welcome to join to watch as, together, the unlikely duo of Flynn and Rapunzel set off on a journey filled with surprising heroes, laughter, and suspense.
There will also be Movie Matinees for adults shown.
On Tuesday, May 27, stop by the Clara Barton Branch for a 1:00pm showing of the 2024 biographical flick A Complete Unknown (rated R). Centered around the life of folk music legend Bob Dylan and his rise to fame, the movie features Timothée Chalamet, Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, and Nick Offerman.
Additionally, each week, the Edison Public Library is celebrating the Great White Way with films that inspired—or were inspired by—Broadway.
On Wednesday, May 28, the black and white 2005 historical drama Good Night, and Good Luck (rated PG), starring George Clooney, David Strathairn, Patricia Clarkson, Jeff Daniels, Robert Downey, Jr., and Frank Langella, will be presented at 1:00pm at the Main Library. Currently a limited engagement Broadway show, the film is directed and written by Clooney and takes place in the 1950s during a time when Communism created an air of paranoia in the United States and the take down of Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy by veteran journalist Edward R. Murrow and his producer Fred W. Friendly.
