The Edison Public Library is celebrating Black Music Month and, on Monday, June 9, we will welcome author Monica Chenault-Kilgore.
Chenault-Kilgore, author of Jewel of the Blues, will present an engaging and interactive discussion of the musical stars of the early 20th century and their impact on the entertainment industry. Covering ragtime, blues, jazz, minstrels, burlesque, and operettas, her presentation set to highlight African American entertainers who shone the brightest despite crushing discrimination along the Vaudeville entertainment circuits.
Join Chenault-Kilgore at the Main Library at 7:00pm for this program.
