Edison teens are invited to participate in
EmpowerYou, a four-session workshop happening at the
Main Library and hosted by
Laurie Kiley, habilitation counselor/prevention consultant for
Middlesex County NJ4S.
The first session will happen on Thursday, September 4, at 3:00pm and will focus on Self-Identity, discussing topics like healthy self-esteem, confidence, and body image.
Session two will handle to topic of Social Skills and will be held on Thursday, September 18, at 3:00pm. This session will delve into boundary setting, understanding perspectives, and unhealthy vs healthy relationships.
The third session, on Thursday, October 2, at 3:00pm, will tackle Managing Emotions, and will cover how to identify emotions, managing difficult emotions, and self-care strategies.
The final session will be held on Thursday, October 16, at 3:00pm and will discuss Leadership with topics like academic success and identifying leadership qualities.
Middlesex County NJ4S is a New Jersey Department of Children & Families program that focuses on student support services, with an emphasis on early intervention and prevention education for families and children.
There is no registration for these programs, and teens are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions.
