November is National Caregiver Month, a time to educate the public about the challenges caregivers face, raise awareness of caregiving issues, and recognize those who provide unpaid care to family members, friends, and neighbors.
Through the Edison Public Library’s Caregiver Series, both in-person and virtual programs designed to provide information, resources, and more will take place.
The Pausing with Purpose in the Demands of Care virtual workshop—taking place on Tuesday, November 4, and Wednesday, November 19, at 7:00pm—will offer caregivers the framework to reclaim their energy, clarity, and vitality. Through practical strategies, heartfelt stories, and science-backed tools, fitness professional, caregiver advocate, and author Jennie Phillips will share how caregivers can learn to pause with purpose, listen for what matters most, and take aligned action—without guilt.
On Friday, November 7, at 10:00am, representatives from the Middlesex County Office of Aging and Disabled Services will lead a virtual presentation discussing the different county resources available to older adults and caregivers and, on Monday, November 19, at 6:00pm, caregivers are invited to join Care2Caregivers for an internative in-person session focused on self-care taking place at the Clara Barton Branch.
Caregivers are also invited to relax and recharge at the Restorative Yoga program taking place on Saturday, November 15, at 1:00pm at the Clara Barton Branch. Join resident instructor Luis Ollé and learn how restorative yoga can provide deep relaxation and stress reduction, improve sleep quality, increase flexibility and mobility, reduce muscle tension, and enhance self-awareness and mindfulness.
