The Edison Public Library is celebrating Picture Book Month with three special storytime programs led by the local authors who wrote them.
On Saturday, November 1, at 11:00am, the North Edison Temporary Location will serve as the host site for a read-aloud of the book Monster Feelings: Miss Ann Gree. Written by Edison teacher Jennie Misko with illustrations by Edison student Ruhaan Khatri, the book is the first of a series designed to help children understand and manage their big 'monster' emotions.
The National Picture Book Month celebration will continue on Thursday, November 6, with a visit by local author and educator Sharon Benjamin. During the 6:00pm storytime, taking place at the Main Library, Benjamin will read her self-published book Jungle Gym and talk about her journey to becoming an author.
Then, on Thursday, November 13, at 6:00pm, local author Nora Bruno will stop by the Clara Barton Branch to read her book, The Meow Brothers Find a Home. The book follows the adventures of two feline brothers as they search for their purrfect forever home and offers valuable lessons about family, belonging, and the importance of kindness along the way through charming illustrations and an engaging narrative. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as create a themed craft.
Children ages 3 to 11 are invited to attend the Picture Book Month storytimes. No registration is required.
