Enter the world of Jazz Manouche and the music of jazz legend Django Reinhardt, with a tribute by harmonicist Yvonnick Prené taking place at the Main Library on Sunday, November 30, at 2:00pm.
Prené is a singular voice in modern jazz, a chromatic harmonica virtuoso whose work as a performer, composer, bandleader, and educator has made him a fixture on the international jazz scene. Based in the New York City area, he is widely recognized as one of today’s most innovative harmonicists.
Inspired by the collaborations between Reinhardt and Larry Adler, Prené’s Un Harmonica pour Django aims to bring harmonica back into the language of Jazz Manouche, a musical setting where it has always belonged.
