Mutual Aid is a system of reciprocal exchange of goods and services, so members of a community rely on each other for support where governments and charities have failed. More than just putting a band-aid on a problem, mutual aid fights the systems that created the problems in the first place.
This year, before Giving Tuesday (December 2), about available mutual aid programs, how it can directly benefit your community, and ways to get involved. Join members of Mutual Oranges and Mask Bloc NJ on Monday, December 1, at the Main Library for a collaborative exchange of resources and services to help overcome barriers to meet common needs.
This program will take place at 6:00pm and will also be available on YouTube. Please note: masks are mandatory for those who are able to, and N95 masks will be provided.
