AARP is offering free, in-person, same-day tax preparation and filing for low- and moderate-income taxpayers with special attention being provided to seniors 60 and older.
AARP tax specialists will be at the Main Library on Mondays from February 9 through April 6 and appointments, which can be made by calling (732) 287-2298, ext. 5213, are required; please note, the Library will be closed on Monday, February 16 in observance of President’s Day.
After scheduling an appointment, patrons will need to pick up and complete the required 13614-C Intake/Interview and Quality Review Document. Please bring this completed form, along with the following, to your appointment: a government issued photo ID; social security card or ITIN letter for all individuals listed on the return (photocopies not allowed); all 2025 tax forms (SSA-1099, 1099-R, W-2s, etc.); last paystub from 2025 and first paystub of 2026 if filing a W-2; a blank check for direct deposit (for routing/account numbers); health care coverage info (1095-A, B, C); tuition statements (1098-T) if applicable; deduction documents for property taxes, medical expenses, charitable contributions, etc.; 2024 federal and state tax returns and all associated documents; and 2025 SSA-1099 Social Security Benefit Statement (if applicable).
